Interested in becoming a volunteer? The Pharmacy Alumni Association needs your help!
The Pharmacy Alumni Association offers many volunteer opportunities that invite you to stay connected, engaged and involved with the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences. By giving your time as a Campbell Pharmacy alumnus, you can make tremendous contributions to your alma mater and fellow alumni.
Volunteer Opportunities
Events Committee Members The events committee is responsible for the determination of event ideas and overall execution of the various alumni activities. The goal of this committee is to assist the Alumni Office with the logistics prior to and day of pharmacy alumni events and to plan events that allow CUSOP alumni members to keep in touch with each other and their alma mater. Current events include receptions during professional pharmaceutical conferences, the annual alumni golf tournament, continuing education activities, and also sporting events such as Durham Bulls baseball games and NASCAR races.
Fundraising Committee Members The fundraising committee is charged with determining ideas for fundraising opportunities and events, as well as to participate in the organization and execution of these events whenever possible. The committee should hold a minimum number of events each year and set a goal for total funds raised. The committee chair is ultimately responsible for the organization of these events and should make it his or her priority to ensure that the committee meets its goals.
Membership Committee Members The membership committee is responsible for expanding the number of Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences (CPHS) alumni who are a part of the Alumni Association. This committee also strives to maximize involvement in, and support of the association from its current members. The committee chair should work with the Alumni Office staff and the entire committee to creatively and effectively promote membership benefits and use of membership dollars to the association's constituents.
Reunion Committee Members The reunion committee works directly with the Alumni Office to plan and organize the annual alumni weekend activities for the current year's reunion class, now recruiting members from the classes of 1990, 1995, 2000 and 2005 to celebrate their 20th, 15th, 10th, and 5th year reunions.
Committee Expectations As a general rule, each committee should meet four times per year and members should attend at least three of these meetings in person or by phone. Determining the time and place of these meetings is the responsibility of the committee chair. The committees should also stay in regular contact with each other and stay up-to-date on the latest developments pertaining to their mission. The committee chair will also be responsible for keeping written records of meetings and events. Each committee must consist of at least three members to be an official committee. Committee chairs are selected each year at the Pharmacy Alumni Association Board of Directors annual meeting.
Additional Opportunities The Pharmacy Alumni Student Association (PASA) was launched to facilitate an active relationship between students and alumni of the CPHS. In order for this organization to thrive, students need your help!
CU @ Dinner The idea is simple: pharmacy alumni open their homes to host dinners for PASA members bringing everyone together for good food, conversation and networking. The concept behind CU @ Dinner is to build and strengthen the Campbell Pharmacy family by creating an informal environment for students to make connections with alumni. Alumni can host (or co-host) this event at their home, a restaurant or attend a CU @ Dinner event at CPHS.
How do I become a volunteer? If you would like to volunteer your time and/or become a member of a committee you can contact the Pharmacy Alumni Office. Your involvement and support would be a great contribution to the association and its cause. There are numerous opportunities to volunteer in addition to serving on a committee. To volunteer, start by letting the Pharmacy Alumni Office know that you are interested and the office will help you find the best position to fit your schedule. We look forward to working with you!
